Theatre, reading and meetings: “is bornVista Paradox cultural perspectives”the new cultural project designed by zeta archive for the spaces of the monumental wing of theRizzoli Orthopedic Instituteas well as the park of San Michele in Bosco and Parco Remo Scoto, the company’s new home.
The project, we read in the presentation, was born within the three-year agreement between archivizeta and the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, thanks to which archivezeta has had its new artistic and organizational headquarters in the Monumental Wing of the Institute since January 2024 “and promotes the creation of social and cultural projects aimed at enhancing the historical and artistic heritage of Rizzoli”.
Vista Paradox also is supported with funds MIC for the live show and is part of Bologna Summer 2024the program of activities promoted and coordinated by Municipality of Bologna and from the Metropolitan City of Bologna-Bologna-Modena Tourist Territory.
We start with a series of appointments, That they will start on June 14th and which will end in September. The target? “Valorize And rediscover This marvelous And multifaceted place in the city. THE CHOICE OF THE NAME
“Vista Paradox cultural perspectives”i, in the international scientific nomenclature, “is the definition of the famous optical illusion known as the ‘telescope effect’ which is perceived in the corridor on the first floor of the monumental complex of San Michele in Bosco, thanks to which there is a special, paradoxical, incredibly enlarged view of the famous Torre degli Asinelli. Precisely for this reason, archiviozeta has decided to call its new cultural project this way.” The project, born in continuity with the artistic residency experience inobservance at Villa Aldini (currently under restoration), “is centered on the gaze and the word: a vision of culture in perspectiveto ‘paradoxically’ increase our perception of reality”.

THE FIRST MEETINGS
We begin on June 14, with a new staging of the first two parts of The enchanted mountain, performed every other evening and redesigned specifically for the spaces of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna. After the debut in 2022 and 2023, at the German Military Cemetery at the Futa Pass, zeta archive has decided to inaugurate its new artistic residence with the staging of the masterpiece by Thomas Manna paradigmatic and very current novel on illness and war, on the centenary of its publication (1924-2024) in a place of research and treatment such as the Rizzoli.

The June 28however, archiviozeta participates with readings and itinerant theatrical actions also dedicated to children and families in the event organized by Rizzoli Foundation, to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute (1896) and the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute Foundation (2022). Inspired by the work on the writer’s fairy tale Cristina Campothe event takes place in the cloisters and garden of the Rizzoli, which for the occasion become a space for reflection, reading and the creation of fantastic worlds. Old forest it is a path that starts from the Himalayan cedar which stands out imposingly and magnificently in the park of San Michele in Bosco and crosses the various courtyards, a polyphonic reading taken from the novel The secret of the old wood by Dino Buzzati.
Then it’s time to incipit, a reading group whose thread and the scientific literature in relation to the research work of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, with three meetings open to all from September, in which they are involved doctors And researchers of theRizzoli Orthopedic Institute, recognized by the Ministry of Health as IRCCS – Scientific Institute for Hospitalization and Care. Doctors themselves and archivizeta actors read and comment on the proposed books, making each meeting an opportunity for an informative story on some specific aspects of the research work. The meetings are held each time in a different place of the monumental complex and the Institute, including the laboratories.
Also starting from September it arrives vanishing pointsa series of informative and performative events aimed at discovering, studying and valorising the different places of the monumental complex of San Michele in Bosco, together with scholars, historians and historians, art historians and historians, musicians and dancers , accompanied by readings by archivizeta.

The beginning of a journey aimed at valorising a heritage of inestimable historical, medical, archival, cultural but also poetic value coming from the documentary and iconographic fund of the medical records of the war wounded preserved at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute. During meetings, with readings and screenings, archivizeta will try to gradually restore, in a popular form, this heritage of images of bodies and faces which, for over a century, have been waiting to see the light again.
