THE BOOK

One step away from the elections, the placid victory of Valerio Corti – a strong man of the Conservatives – is undermined by a real epidemic of women, of women killed at home, by husbands, by lovers, by ex-boyfriends, women torn to pieces by devoted companions. But the prime ministerial candidate does not intend to deal with it, because women have always died, because good, normal women, mothers of families, discreet girlfriends are not at risk. Beyond any political strategy, however, it seems that the road to his coronation as Prime Minister is paved with blood, with public opinion demanding an account and the few voices of activists crying out for massacre. But is there really a women’s epidemic? Is there really a problem? And what happens when politics, an entire political class, a State, are unable to resolve the problem? With The female eaters Giulio Cavalli signs his most radical and provocative work, with the recognizable style of a refined narrator who is not afraid to tell a world that already exists. DF is now more than ever the dark mirror of a society in which we would never want to look at ourselves.

THE AUTHOR

Giulio Cavalli (Milan, 1977), writer and playwright, has lived under guard since 2007 due to his commitment to the fight against the mafia. He collaborates with various newspapers and has published several investigative books, among which we remember: Names, surnames and infamous (2010); Giulio’s innocence (2012), Carnage (2018, Campiello Selection Award and Naples Award finalist). THE FAHRENHEIT 451 REVIEW

The literary review Fahrenheit 451 – Signature aperitiftaking as inspiration the masterpiece of the same name by Ray Bradburyaims to enhance and shine a spotlight on dystopian, science fiction and surreal setting culture (but not only!) and on artists who, in different fields of art, investigate reality by probing it in depth and giving us an unusual picture, but often truer than others, and bringing out the transformations of our time and their repercussions in unspecified futures.

In light of the current international geopolitical panorama and the events in which we are all now involved, especially by virtue of the advent of artificial intelligence and the hypothetical despotism deriving from its incorrect use, as Guy Montag we want to give life to our form of peaceful resistance and save the booksthe independent culture and the Arts understood as unique bastion of humanity.

Next appointment on July 6th with Purple Grade.
