Friday 24 May at 5.30pm at the San Paolo Bookshop (Piazza Matteotti 31-33r) Lorenzo Fazzinieditorial director of the Libreria Editrice Vaticana presents his volume “God between the lines. The search for the infinite from Cormac McCarthy to Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt”. In this book, which presents itself as a sort of small “Western canon”, Fazzini guides the reader in a real foray into contemporaneity, aimed at identifying how the religious question is present in so much unsuspected literature. In writers such as Cormac McCarthy, Colum McCann, Chaim Potok, Wendell Berry, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and many others, the reader finds sagacious reflections on faith and grace, incarnation and love, resurrection and forgiveness. The spiritual question is anything but distant from the world of contemporary literature which, on the contrary, addresses the search for God and the infinite with a surprising gaze, imbued with poetry and wisdom: religious themes, often implicitly, are always capable of provoking even the greatest best-selling authors.
The author talks with Giacomo D’AlessandroDiocesan Synod Team.
