Lots of artists, two exceptional hosts and the magnificent scenery of the Sferisterio of Macerata which it hosts Musicultura 2024. The ingredients of the XXXV edition of the are few but effective Popular and Author Song Festival, called to choose the overall winner among the 8 winners of this round. RaiRadio1 follows the two days of June 21st and 22nd with live and deferred, while Rai2 offers one television special aired on 15th of July.

At the helm, we find two women and artists of the highest level. We are talking about the radio speaker Carolina Di Domenico, a regular and reassuring face at numerous events dedicated to music and culture, and the singer-songwriter Paola Turci, at one of her first and only rehearsals as host.
The guests of June 21st
Opening the first of the two final evenings of the competition is Diodato, fresh winner of his second Donatello’s David obtained in the category best original song with My land – main theme of Laf building by Michele Riondino – and always a guarantee of elegance and artistic depth. Also on the stage of the Arena Sferisterio Serena Brancalemultifaceted and increasingly launched towards a bright career.
There is no shortage of it international musicthanks to the talent of the young Polish guitarist Marcinmaking its debut in Italy after having conquered the American public and that of much of Europe, while emotions are guaranteed with Filippo Graziani. The son of the great and never forgotten Ivan has in fact released the album For friendscomposed of eight unreleased songs by the father, arranged and performed by him, creating one of more particular productions and interesting ones of 2024.
Those registered for the 2024 competition: the numbers
For 2024, they signed up for the competition 1187 artists and – after careful selections and live auditions – a shortlist of 18 finalists was reached. Among these, the 8 winners were indicated by CArtistic omited of a Guarantee of Musiculturawhich was first joined by Fabrizio De Andrè and Giorgio Caproni in 1990. This year it is made up of Francesco Amato, Francesca Archibugi, Enzo Avitabile, Claudio Baglioni, Diego Bianchi, Francesco Bianconi, Maria Grazia Calandrone, Luca Carboni, Guido Catalano, Ennio Cavalli, Carmen Consoli, Simone Cristicchi, Gaetano Curreri, Dardust, Teresa De Sio, Giorgia, Mariangela Gualtieri, La Representative di Lista, Dacia Maraini, Ermal Meta, Mariella Nava, Piero Pelù, Ron, Vasco Rossi, Enrico Ruggeri, Tosca, Paola Turci, Roberto Vecchioni and Sandro Veronesi.
The winners will perform in front of the audience present at the Sferisterio on both Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd June. TO decide the overall winner of this edition are the spectators, 4800 over the two evenings, which goes to the prize pool of 20,000 euros from the Banca Macerata Prize. Added to this is the PMI Award for best recording project of 2000 euros, the Prize from the Universities of Macerata and Camerino for the best text from 2000 euros and the Critics’ Plaque of 3000 euros dedicated to Piero Cesanelli, creator of Musicultura and its artistic director from the first edition until 2019.
In this edition, a special recognition is also established, the Award The House by the Sea. The award to one of the eight winners is decided by a jury of prisoners from the Barcaglione prison in Ancona. The initiative, promoted and supported by Guarantor of human rights of the Marche Region Giancarlo Giulianelli, constitutes a point of arrival of a more extensive project, which saw Musicultura operate music laboratories inside prisons that involved the inmates in an incredible journey made of emotions and feelings.
