the digital ticket – SiViaggia is now available

The museum complex of Uffizi in Florence “is renewed” with a series of innovations that aim to improve the visitor experience.

Among the main innovations we find the farewell to paper and the green light to the era of digital ticket. Let’s find out more.

You can enter the Uffizi with a digital ticket

Stop, therefore, the classic paper ticket: from 6 May i tickets purchased online (on the official website of the Museum or via call center) for the Gallery of Statues and Paintings, the Boboli Gardens and Palazzo Pitti will become QR Code which users will receive via email and can use as an access ticket to show on their smartphone.

In fact, using “digital guns”, the reception staff will verify and validate the code. This is a new procedure which, although it does not cancel all bookings made so far with the previous system, allows you to eliminate queues to collect the paper ticket on site, streamlines and makes entry easier in the tunnel and also guarantees (from an ecological perspective) a significant saving in paper consumption.

But that’s not all: from the ticket voucher received via email it will be possible to download a complete and detailed map of the route of the museum space you have chosen to visit.

Simone Verdethe director of the Uffizi Galleries, commented on the introduction of the digital ticket as follows: “With this new system the aim is to reduce queues and make entry into the museum easier and more fluid, making it easier for visitors, helping to improve the quality of their stay in the museum and bringing order and beauty back to the Uffizi Square.“.

Finally, it should be remembered that the entrance ticket in high season, from March 1st to November 30th, has a price price increase from 20 to 25 eurosan increase which only concerns the single ticket for the Gallery of Statues and Paintings.

However, one was also introduced in the high season morning discount for the time slot between 8.15 and 8.55 at a cost of 19 euros. However, low season prices remain unchanged, as do those for Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens.

The other news from one of the most appreciated museum centers internationally

In addition to the dematerialisation of the ticket, the Uffizi, one of the most appreciated and popular museum centers for tourists from all over the world, has implemented a whole series of further innovations for 2024 starting from the extraordinary evening openings every Tuesday, from March 26th to December 17th.

Closing is usually at 6.30pm but the Uffizi will be on Tuesdays accessible until 9.30pm with last entry at 8.30pm, thus allowing, especially citizens, to enjoy the splendor of the magnificent works of art even beyond normal hours.

An initiative that was designed to encourage the participation of residents in Florence and give them the opportunity to regain possession of the Museum that most represents the city at convenient times to meet their daily needs and admire the rooms in a different light and atmosphere, away from rush hours and the crowds of tourists.

Furthermore, during special events and holidays, the Uffizi and the Boboli Gardens will remain open even on the days normally scheduled for closure (such as Monday) and moles holidays (except Christmas).

In particular, the next extraordinary openings will take place on June 24th (Festival of San Giovanni, Patron Saint of Florence) and the December 30thto allow visitors to discover undisputed artistic masterpieces even during holidays or long weekends.
