Less than three weeks after the arrival of Inside Out 2 in cinemas, important updates arrive on the future of the beloved Pixar franchise. According to what has emerged in the last few hours, Riley Andersen’s lively emotions are preparing to become the protagonists of one TV series for Disney+.
The news was given by Jim Morris, president of Pixar, who confirmed that the studio has put an animated series into production spin off with the intention of distributing it via streaming during the 2025.
According to what has emerged, the Inside Out series will be titled Dream Productionand will be set in the “film studio” of the same name seen in the first film of 2015. As you will remember, in Inside Out the studio set – referred to in the Italian dubbing as “Cineproduction Dreams” – was the backdrop to Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong’s attempts to wake Riley up by causing her to have a nightmare.
Meanwhile, it’s getting less and less until it arrives at the cinema Inside Out 2whose official synopsis reads:
Throughout his young life Riley, now a teenager, has experienced ever new emotions such as Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust. They have been running a successful operation for some time, but everything is about to change when a completely unexpected renovation marks the arrival of a new emotion: Anxiety! And it looks like this one won’t be the only one…
Inside Out 2 was directed by Kelsey Mann, who took over as director from Pete Docter who had directed the successful previous film. The screenplay was signed by Meg LeFauvewhile Mark Nielsen is the designated producer.
The Italian adaptation will be able to count on a voice cast composed of Stella Musy, Paolo Marchese, Melina Martello, Daniele Giuliani And Veronica Puccio returning as Joy, Anger, Sadness, Fear and Disgust. Among the new entries there are instead Pilar Fogliati for Anxiety, Marta Filippi for Envy, Federico Cesari for Embarrassment, e Deva Cassel – daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel – who lends her voice to Ennui. She will also be present Stash of The Kolors as the voice of Lance Slashblade, a video game hero on whom Riley has a crush.
Produced by Pixar Animation Studios, in co-production with Walt Disney Pictures, Inside Out 2 is expected on the big Italian screens for June 19, 2024.
