The 16th edition of the event kicks off Books on the beach. The series of meetings is hosted by the Des Bains 1900 Luxury Beach Club seaside facility in Lungomare Marconi 34 on the Lido of Venice, in the ‘Living room of the sea’. as the entrepreneur Michela Cafarchia, one of the beach managers, calls it, who has reserved this space for the summer literary event.

This year the fiction meetings with authors and the presentation of their publications will begin on Thursday 6 June and will continue every Thursday until 29 August.
The formula is the same proven by the success of numerous previous editions.

The organizational team is made up of Giacomo Baresi, Germana Daneluzzi, Michela Gambillara, Lucia Guidorizzi, Barbara Marengo and the curator herself.
The original formula of the literary review in the summer period has attracted a large and loyal audience year after year. “We have reached an important anniversary – underlines Daniela Zamburlin – I am happy to celebrate the sixteenth birthday of Books on the beach, returning to the origins. In fact, in 2009, we were right here in front of this splendid sea. Let’s not forget that Thomas Mann wrote in 1934 that there was no more beautiful sea for swimming in, near a unique city in the world. The event was a long journey, sometimes tiring, but always full of satisfaction. We animated the Lido with events and debates. Our motto is: Culture doesn’t go on holiday.”
The Lido Pellestrina Civic Association, the Fontego Cultural Association, the Popular University of Venice and the Voci di Carta Association collaborate on the initiative.

Two collateral events enrich the program: An evening of Poetry and a Graphics Award
The Poetry under the Stars evening will be dedicated this year to the poet Guido Gozzano. Participants should be inspired by the verse ‘I only love the roses I didn’t pick ‘. The event will be held at the Ausonia e Hungaria hotel on Friday 12 July at 9.00 pm.
The graphics award Cover Award to Colombo will take place at the Al Colombo restaurant in Venice in October. The most significant cover among those of the books participating in Libri on the beach will be rewarded.
