Eric Kripke, showrunner and creator of the series, has admitted that he is thinking about a possible Supernatural reunion on the set of The Boysnow that Jared Padalecki’s involvement in the final season has been confirmed.
Interviewed by Entertainment Weekly, Kripke explained that he does not rule out Jensen Ackles acting alongside his friend and colleague:
The value of that would be to blow up the internet. So we’ll see if it’s right for the story. But yeah, I thought about the fact that putting them together in one scene would destroy most of the world and that’s something that appeals to me.
The showrunner revealed that he hasn’t thought about Padalecki’s role yet now that he won’t be busy on the set of Walker, and the writers are still in the early stages of working on the fifth season. Eric stressed:
It seems like the planets are aligning. Barring an unforeseeable disaster, it looks like it will happen. I repeat that I don’t know what the character will be, whether he will be present in one or more episodes, I really don’t know anything about all this. I’m not keeping secret. I don’t really know.
Soldier, played by Ackles, could in fact return to the scene and Supernatural fans could therefore witness a reunion thanks to The Boys.
