After the curiosity about the coincidence that links The Boys to The Acolyte, let’s go back to talking about the TV series Prime Video analyzing the surprise cameos that amazed fans in these first episodes of the new season.
We are talking about actors Will Farrell and Tilda Swinton, who surprisingly play two very particular roles in the fourth season of The Boys: the first plays the role of himself, in a biopic on A-Train that Vought is shooting for promotion; the second instead is the voice actress of Ambrosius, or Abisso’s octopus girlfriend. Speaking to Den of Geek, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke explained how these unexpected collaborations were born.
As for Will Farrellhe said: “Will and I had talked a bit at the time about a script I was developing and one day I just asked him, ‘Do you want to come to Toronto for 30 hours and do a scene from The Boys?’ He couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. The shooting conditions were terrible, with freezing rain coming down literally all day, but he was nothing but smiles and kindness, I just have the utmost respect for him.” As for Tilda Swintonhowever, the showrunner revealed: “We wanted the most elegant Oscar-winning British actress we could find, and Tilda’s name appeared on a very short list. When we proposed it to her, she said ”hell yes, I’ve wanted to play an octopus my whole life.’ She came into the recording booth for a day and I stood there watching this top notch actress while she said the stupidest things possible. She literally brought tears to my eyes with her. Was one of the best professional days of my life.“
