Tarquinia – Literature and music at the Piad’Heart café in Tarquinia lido.

For the series of events “Stas’era libri e Neighborhoods”, promoted by the Tarquiniense Society of Art and History and by the Benefit Society HeArtyWhere benevolent art, at number 82 Viale dei Tritoni, on Friday 28 June, at 6.15 pm, there will be a presentation the book “The violin and its noble family” (Bordeaux editions, 2020).

The work was born from an unpublished manuscript by one of the most important musicologists of the second half of the twentieth century, Giorgio Graziosi, revised and updated by his son Stefano, who will dialogue with the pianist Gabriele Ripa, delving into the themes of what is a true tribute to love for the violin and its noble great family: viola, cello and double bass.

The nature of the volume is not specialist: the pages contain numerous useful information for the reader interested in a broad and not necessarily technical cultural discussion. The history of the violin is retraced in broad terms, with appropriate digressions on specific episodes, details and characters, always pleasant in the way the story is told. The book is completed by an essential discography and Moni Ovadia’s afterword “The violin and the Jew”.

The presentation will be enriched by the reading of some passages by Roberto Antenore and by the violin interludes by Flavia Morra.

Stefano Graziosi, professor of Italian literature in higher education institutes, held a writing course at Lumsa University and a seminar on Violin and literature at the Dams of the Third University of Rome. He was co-writer and actor of the episode “Discutiamo, discutiamo” by Marco Bellocchio, in the film “Love and rage”. He participated as an author and presenter in many Rai programs in which he mainly dealt with literature and music. He wrote for “La Repubblica”. He collaborates with the Il Menabò agency.

The meeting is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Unicoop Tirreno – Etruria Members section. Reservation is advisable.
