The clash over General Roberto Vannacci between Francesco Storace and Elsa Fornero flares up during the 11 June episode of DiMartedì, the La7 TV program hosted by Giovanni Floris. The former minister of the Monti government takes the floor, clarifying his thoughts on the League: “I have never said that I agree with Umberto Bossi and no one sanctifies it, let’s say that it is a question of respect for people and I it seems that in the tradition of Matteo Salvini’s League, respect for people is in last place. There is the illusion that is systematically sold, hatred, contempt and bitterness that are created, all of this is in Salvini’s preaching. But the voters noticed it, so much so that he had to resort to another who imitates him, Vannacci, to find votes. Kept by deceiving people.”

Fornero’s speech makes Storace jump from his seat: “You have never received this thrill of voting, 500 thousand votes is a lot, you have never received 500 thousand votes. Trick? But who is she? Think about what you’ve done.” While Floris tries to restore calm Fornero concludes his speech with another frontal assault on the new MEP: “Many of the things that Vannacci said are exactly contrary to the spirit of the Constitution, in fact I no longer call him general, because he has dishonored this nickname”.
