The nightmare is over. Edoardo Gallithe 16 year old boy of Colic who disappeared on March 21st and was found on Friday morning in the Central Station area of Milan, where he was last seen by cameras on the day of his disappearance. The last frame, captured that morning, had taken him right at the station, while he was wandering around the station shops and eating an ice cream. Initially it was hypothesized that he could be in the company of a second person – actually filmed next to him -, but the prosecutor later denied that hypothesis.
Edoardo Galli was buying a ticket to go home
The boy was buying a ticket to go home.
This was recognized by a couple of travellers, who immediately notified FS Security staff who, in turn, requested the intervention of the Railway Police. The police reports it.
In his escape he had reached Montenegro
His “escape” had reached as far as Montenegro. The young man – following the activation of all channels of international police cooperation by the Carabinieri of the Lecco Provincial Command – had been checked on the night of 27 March by the Croatian police at the Karasovici-Sutorina border with Montenegro. The boy – explained the Carabinieri of Lecco – had clearly returned to Italy and was recognized thanks to the diffusion of the images from the surveillance cameras.
«The research conducted both on the national territory and abroad, thanks to the active collaboration of all the institutions, the coordination of the Prefecture of Lecco and the investigative directives of the Prosecutor’s Office of the capital of Lecco – explain the military – have made it possible to reconstruct “like the boy” after having taken a train on the morning of March 21st from the Morbegno railway station, he reached the Milan Central railway station, losing track of himself.” «Following the activation of all channels of international police cooperation by the Carabinieri of the Lecco Provincial Command, the young man was checked on the night of 27 March by the Croatian police at the Karasovici-Sutorina border with Montenegro. The father: «A terrible week»
“I thank the police and all the people who helped us during this terrible week.” These are the first words of Alessandro, Galli, father of Edoardo, the 16-year-old who disappeared on March 21st in Colico, in the Lecco area, and was found after 8 days at Milan Central Station. The parent spoke briefly to journalists while he and his wife, the boy’s mother, were entering the station’s police station where the officers took the 16-year-old after he was found.
