Bus crashes into a ravine in Ravello, 20-metre flight: the driver dies

The serious accident occurred this morning on the provincial road that leads from Ravello to Castiglione: rescuers were on site. The driver is unfortunately deceased.

A serious road accident, unfortunately fatal, occurred this morning, Monday 8 May, in Ravelloon the Amalfi Coast, in the province of Salerno: around 11.45, along the provincial road 75 which leads from Ravello to Castiglione, a tour bus has fallen off a cliff. From an initial reconstruction, for reasons that are still being investigated, the bus crashed into the void along the so-called Paolillo curve: the vehicle flew 20 meters, plummeting violently below: the driver, a man of about 30 years old, FN his initialssadly died in the crash.

The 118 rescuers immediately intervened on the scene of the tragic accident, together with the forces of order, who immediately made every effort to reach the bus, a not easy operation given the position in which it is currently located. At first it was feared that there could be many passengers on board the bus: as it was later ascertained, there was only the driver on board the bus, who died. The man’s body was found on the bed of the Dragone stream: the arrival of the magistrate on duty is awaited who, as practice in these cases, could order an autopsy.
