An extraordinary and urgent session of the Assizes was called, but the majority did not show up. And they did not do so the next day either when, having ascertained the lack of a quorum, the session was declared null. Michele Termini speaks of “financial damage caused to the institution” and the entire opposition has requested an urgent meeting with the prefect of Agrigento, Filippo Romano.

“On June 25th, at the end of the first municipal council meeting, they gave me the summons for an urgent session to be held 2 days later. Urgency motivated by the fact that June 30th was the deadline for the approval of the financial economic plan (Pef) of the urban hygiene service and the consequent approval of the Tari 2024 – instead reconstructed Antonio Pitruzzella of the Democratic Party, who came second in the electoral competition for the conquest of the tricolor band – the same 25 June in the Senate the approval deadline of the PEF until July 20th. I called the president of the city council Angelo Intorre asking him, considering that the extension made the urgency disappear, to postpone the Council so we could better document ourselves. The answer was that he would speak with the administration and with the majority leader to let me know. There was no postponement, so on June 27th at 6 pm I showed up in the council chamber. But due to the lack of a quorum – we were only 2 minority councilors and 3 majority – the session was postponed to the following day”. The next day the session was declared null and void.
“Why is an urgent city council meeting called and then the majority doesn’t show up? What is the real reason?” asks Pitruzzella.
