Two new members in the Salerno area of the party led at the national level by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. “The Honorable John Fortunatomayor of Santa Marina, joins the regional secretariat of Forza Italia Campania as head of the energy policies and green deal department”. This was announced by Fulvio Martusciello, coordinator of the Campania blues, for whom it is “an important and significant membership that will further root Forza Italia in the province of Salerno”. Not only that. But Fortunato could represent the Gulf of Policastro in view of the next elections. “We will evaluate the mayor’s candidacy for the 2025 regional elections in Campania” says, in fact, Tajani’s loyalist.
Previous elections
Fortunato was a candidate in the 2020 regional elections with Fratelli d’Italia, winning 4,586 preferences and being the second of the non-elected. Then the break with the provincial and national leaders of Giorgia Meloni’s party following his lack of involvement in the nominations within the Cilento National Park. Now, after months of distancing from the parties (he administers the Municipality of Santa Marina with a civic list) he has joined Forza Italia. In the past he was a regional councilor (from 2010 to 2015) and several times a provincial councilor.
