They were called Simone Esposito and Nazzareno Sette the two men who died yesterday in the accident which occurred around 2pm on Via Tiburtina Valeria. Simone was 40 years old, Nazzareno 37: the former lived in Palestrina, the latter in Marcellina. They were riding their motorbikes – a Ducati and a Kawasaki – when, for reasons still being ascertained, they collided violently in the Roviano area, on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo. There was nothing that could be done for the two centaurs: despite the timely rescue efforts, they died practically instantly. The injuries sustained following the impact between the two motorbikes were too serious.

The Carabinieri of Subiaco are investigating the accident. Both vehicles have been seized to carry out further investigations, and to understand whether one of the two motorcycles had a sudden breakdown, which led it to invade theopposite lane. Among the hypotheses of the military, that one of the two drivers had a sudden illness, or a fatal distraction. Also being examined is the speed at which the two vehicles were going, which could have played a key role in the accident.

The accident occurred around 2pm, so many people helplessly witnessed the tragedy. Witnesses will be interviewed to reconstruct what happened and shed light on the dynamics, which are currently still unclear.

There have been many social messages of condolence in the last few hours to remember Simone and Nazzareno. “You have left an unfillable void in your loved ones and in all those who loved you. Goodbye Nazzareno”, wrote a friend of the 37-year-old. “I have no words, only so much pain my friend. Simone destroyed me”. The families are waiting for the magistrate’s authorization for the funerals of their loved ones, which will be held in the coming days.
