The fourth hour of the 24 hours of Spa was marked by a very bad accident: Hook’s Ferrari caught fire after a collision, fortunately without consequences for the drivers involved.

Those are truly frightening images that come from 24 Hours of Spascene of a bad accident that could have caused irreparable damage. A car stopped on the track caught fire after being hit by another car who hit it at full speed as he exited a curve: the crash was filmed by the event’s cameras but also by some fans present in the stands who watched the scene petrified, from which fortunately all the drivers involved emerged unharmed.

Terrible accident: a car catches fire

The very bad moment experienced at the 24 hours of Spa involved the Hook’s Ferrari which risked suffering serious damage due to the flames that devoured the entire rear part of the car, rising in a sudden explosion. It all started from the contact with an Aston Martin: the car after a spin ended up on a fence and it remained stationary on the trackapparently without having suffered irreparable damage.

Hook was right in the middle of the track and was blocking the trajectory of the other cars that, despite proceeding at high speed, managed to avoid him calmly respecting the yellow flags displayed as a sign of danger. But it was the arrival of Adrian D’Silva to unleash the disaster: in the fourth hour of the race the pilot he didn’t notice the car and hit it head-on with his Porsche, starting a terrifying fire.

The conditions of the pilots

The impact caused the Ferrari to crash into the pit wall and caused flames to burst out on the rear of the car. Everyone held their breath for a few seconds in front of the scene that foreshadowed terrible consequences. The medical team immediately extracted Hook from the cockpit and the fire was promptly put out: fortunately the impact did not cause any damage to those involved they are all fine.
