Doctors did everything they could to save his life, but it was all in vain. Riccardo Legnani, a 23-year-old motorcyclist from Rescaldina (Milan), who was involved in a serious accident in Turate (Como) on Wednesday evening, has died.

It all happened around 9.30pm while the young man, driving a Ducati Monster 900, was traveling along Via Cavour towards the town centre. The accident, in more detail, occurred after overtaking: Riccardo apparently overtook a truck and once he returned to his lane he lost control of the vehicle and fell to the ground.

There appears to have been no contact between the motorcycle and the truck, but the reconstruction of what happened is still underway and the Carabinieri of Cantù are working on the case. The Como prosecutor’s office, which had opened a file following the accident, had also ordered the seizure of the motorcycle and helmet, pending the first report. In the next few hours, a decision will be made as to what investigations to carry out, starting with the autopsy. Subsequently, a technical check could be carried out on the motorcycle itself to ascertain, as emerged during the initial investigations, that there was no contact between the two vehicles.

He is the second boy killed on a motorbike in a few days. On Saturday evening in Nerviano a 20-year-old boy, Mattia Dattis, died after a terrible accident with a car.
