After the big scare yesterday afternoon in Viale Bornata in Brescia, another bad bicycle accident for a young mother and her baby, this time a few kilometers from our province.
We are in Castel Goffredo (Mn), where – around 11:50 today, Friday 28 June – a 31-year-old woman and her 4-year-old daughter were hit by a Chevrolet small car driven by a 63-year-old woman. The impact was strong, the car’s windshield shattered.
The dynamics are still unclear, and the local police are currently investigating. It seems that the woman’s body ended up against the windshield: her bike was found 5-6 meters away in front of the bumper (serious damage), probably thrown forward following the impact. The little girl’s bike, on the other hand, was to the side of the car, still a few meters away: it did not show any signs that could suggest a violent impact.
A medical car and three ambulances were sent to the scene for rescue, including one from the Red Cross volunteers of Calvisano. Both the mother and daughter were taken to the hospital on a stretcher: they were admitted under yellow code, their conditions do not seem to be of great concern.
The 63-year-old woman at the wheel also needed treatment, having been found in a state of shock by paramedics. It is not yet clear who caused the accident: the Municipal Police officers are currently investigating.
