It is assumed that it is the 53-year-old woman from Sorte who disappeared with her husband, but there is no certainty yet. This is indicated by RSI.

The woman reported missing with her husband by Sorte since late last Friday evening may have been found on Thursday. A lifeless female body was found along the Moesa river in the Grono area, in the Gravéra area, about 6 kilometers as the crow flies from Sorte.

The area is not far from where the body of the former municipal councilor of Lostallo was found on Sunday, whose partner was found alive on Saturday morning after a night spent among the rubble.

There is no confirmation from the police yet

The Graubünden police do not confirm that it is actually the 53-year-old. There is therefore still no certainty that the toll from the flood that hit Mesolcina on the evening of June 21st has actually risen to two deaths.

For the moment, therefore, the searches should continue to concern two people. Until Tuesday evening the operations were concentrated in the area of the house where the couple lived with their two children who were in Ticino at the time of the storm.

Since Wednesday, the firefighters, assisted by various specialists and the Ticino lake police, had instead begun to comb the riverbed.

Fundraising for the children, almost 100,000 francs already donated

The tragedy that struck the family of the couple who went missing six days ago has sparked a huge outpouring of solidarity.

A collection was launched on Wednesday for the couple’s children which, thanks to the generosity of more than 1,000 people, has already raised almost 100,000 francs.

The goal of “Shark Team 2000”, the integrated swimming club for which the daughter is active as a coach, is to reach 200,000.
