Tennis, at the Harbor experience wins over youth

A generational clash. And once again the field rewarded the experience. Tennis is like this, there are points that count more than others, those that make the difference. And if you were a semi-finalist or among the top eight at Roland Garros, if you have already won here even if years ago, well, you will play those points better than your younger opponent. This has been confirmed at the Harbor of Milan, in the challenger Aspria Bcs. A marathon day, with twenty-odd games to finish to ensure a smooth continuation of the trophy and after days of rain and constant stop-and-gos, the sun finally rewarded the organizational efforts of Carlo Alagna and Makers.

There were two matches to follow with particular interest. The first placed in front Marco Cecchinato and Federico Cinà, the first the one who together with Fognini started the relaunch of Italian tennis and who had already left his mark at the Harbor in 2016, the second the new great hope, already a semi-finalist at the under 18 UsOpen at just sixteen years old and growing physics and technique. Cecchinato entered the court very ready and extended the lead to 6-2, in the second the seventeen-year-old tried to take the lead, he also served for the set and took the lead to 4-2 in the tie break. But here we are at the initial discussion, there are points that are more weighty than others. And Cecchinato won them, thus advancing in the tournament.

Before, it was the number one spot on the scoreboard, the Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas save yourself with experience and mentality. The opponent, the Peruvian Gonzalo Bueno, he was sixteen years younger and the freshness seemed to take over. Then came the decisive moment, the third set. Bueno served for the victory at 5-4 and 6-5 but here he played the decisive points badly and the Spaniard played well. And at the tie break Ramos Vinolas went away smoothly, thus guaranteeing the number one’s continued participation in the tournament. For him it is the eleventh victory in a row in this tournament.
