A rare piece of gaming history on display for the first time

It is known that the late Queen Elizabeth II owned an enviable collection of jewels during her 70-year reign: from the Imperial State Crown to the Kokoshnik Tiarapassing through the sovereign’s orbit.

However, few people know that among the attempts to pay homage to her with luxury gifts, there was also a rather unusual object: a 24-karat gold-plated Wii console.

This unique gift was commissioned by publisher THQ to celebrate the release of the Big Family Games game on Wii.

Instead of simply submitting the game, THQ decided to create a gold Wii console to send to Buckingham Palace.

Unfortunately, due to the royal family’s policy of not accepting “unsolicited gifts”, the consul never reached the queen.

The golden Wii ended up in the hands of a collector and subsequently found a new home in the definitive console database ConsoleVariations.

Now, for the first time, This unique piece will be on public display at Gamescom from Cologne, Germany.

Although the Original golden nunchuck has been lostthe console and Wii Remote are still in perfect condition and look absolutely gorgeous.

It is an unmissable opportunity for fans to admire this unique object, not only for its rarity, but also for its fascinating history.
