A multifaceted artist

The Roman actor, known for his versatility, has won the hearts of the public not only through his performances, but also thanks to his humanitarian commitment. During the festival, in fact, Bova will hold a masterclass-conversation, in which he will present clips from the documentary film “The Lost Beauty: Syria”, recently screened at the Venice Film Festival. This project, directed by Roberto Burchielli and produced by Maurizio Rasio, was created in collaboration with the Italian Red Cross and the Syrian Red Crescent, and documents the devastation of the Syrian conflict.

A tireless social commitment

It is no coincidence that Raoul said yes to this project: his involvement in social causes is known and appreciated. Particularly significant is his support for the “Casa Famiglia Capitano Ultimo”, founded with Sergio De Caprio to help disadvantaged minors. This facility, located on the outskirts of Rome, offers shelter and education to children from difficult backgrounds, promoting integration and the fight against all forms of discrimination. In 2010, the actor was even named FAO Good Will Ambassador, an award that underlines his commitment to the fight against world hunger. Furthermore, since June 2024, he has taken on the role of the first Ambassador of the Policlinico Gemelli, continuing to demonstrate his commitment to promoting health and social well-being.

A career dedicated to cinema and society

Since his debut in “Una storia italiana” by Stefano Reali, Raoul Bova has come a long way. He has worked with some of the biggest names in international cinema, including Anthony Quinn and Sophia Loren, and has starred in highly successful television series such as “Buongiorno mamma”, “Don Matteo” and “I Fantastici 5”, as well as in cinema where he has received numerous acclaim. Speaking of the big screen, he will soon be back in cinema with the new film “Greta e le favole vere”. Success, however, has only increased his desire to be there to promote and do good for society. So, in 2005, he founded a film production company with the aim of making films that address social issues. Among his most famous productions are “Sbirri” and “15 Seconds”, both acclaimed for their strong social message.

In short, Raoul Bova honored at the Magna Graecia Film Festival 2024 is the recognition not only of a great artistic talent, but also of a tireless commitment beyond the scenes. The Golden Column that will be awarded to him represents a deserved tribute to a career dedicated to cinema and to the improvement of society through art and humanity.
