GALLIPOLI – The ceremony of awarding the ”Blue Flag 2024”, awarded to the beautiful city by the Foundation for Environmental Education, for having busily respected the criteria relating to the sustainable management of the territory and for having observed the rigid and strict quality parameters of bathing water.
A prestigious recognition, with international value, which sees the Ionian town boasting the same for the second time as a symbol of shared, synergistic and virtuous management of the territory.
The councilor Riccardo Cuppone and the councilors delegated for the Environment, Rossana Nicoletti and Silvio Cataldi, officially handed over the flags. Specifically, concessionaires of the bathing establishments along the award-winning Gallipoli coastline, north and south, were given to the concessionaires, who were issued, as requested by the aforementioned non-governmental organisation, a flag to be displayed as an emblem of the excellence of the bathing waters, the efficiency of the services offered and safety of swimmers.
“For the second year we have awarded our beach establishments the 2024 Blue Flag. It is an emotion and an immense pride because for us it is a commitment to respecting the environment with the entire community” comments councilor Rossana Nicoletti, “and to at the same time, the Blue Flag is a banner that represents, for tourist operators, a further element of attraction for quality tourism”.
A result full of pride and pride, which demonstrates once again how profitable and constructive teamwork can be to achieve important and renowned objectives such as the one in question, attesting to the quality and beauty of the Gallipoli Ionian coast.
