North Cape, great meeting opportunity for teenagers (Day 7)

DESTINATION NORTH CAPE – From the first step in Bagnoregio, stage after stage, every moment of this journey was an opportunity for the kids to challenge themselves, discover new horizons and overcome limits they didn’t think possible.

An opportunity for personal growth and discovery for the teenagers who are the soul of the Destination North Cape caravan together with the special kids.

It’s exciting to look at them, to see in their eyes a look that changes, that becomes radiant and
which involves everyone, from traveling companions, to the people they meet along the way at each stage: This was the case today in Stockholm, where the North Cape Destination Caravan met the Italian Ambassador to Sweden, His Excellency Michele Pala, who welcomed the pioneers in his charming private residence.

“It is a pleasure and a joy to welcome you to Sweden – said the ambassador, who offered a “real” coffee to the kids -. It excites me to know your stories, to listen to your stories. This makes me proud and makes Italy proud to export such a beautiful and significant project.”

Sweden, obviously, is Ikea and everyone’s curiosity was to go and discover Ikea City, an ideal place to have fun, but also to create the second live connection with RDS Next, media partner of the project. Among bookcases, shelves, soft toys and “meatballs” we asked our teenagers what the funniest moment of these days was, but they, like all the kids, were able to surprise us once again.

For Matilde, the most intense sensation of this week of travel was “constantly questioning ourselves and thinking about us before I” and adds “I don’t know if we have already found the right balance but I think that every day is simpler and natural to live together.”

Keyla tells us about Antonio, one of the special boys who travels in the car with her, and hers
emotion listening to a song: “It was really nice to see that music is a source of outlet for all of us regardless of how different we are.”

“Leaving on this trip was a courageous choice” admits Martina. “Every destination reached is a new reality discovered, shared emotions”. Pietro, the youngest of the group of teenagers, says “On the North Cape trip I enjoyed being with my travel companions and sharing emotions and sensations with them”. Brith, on the other hand, is the most reserved of our teenagers but for days he has picked up a camera and expresses himself through the photos he takes of all the travellers.
