The worker who died in Campofelice di Roccella (Palermo) is called Giovanni Terrana. The 64-year-old man fell from scaffolding. The injuries caused by the impact on the ground were fatal. The 118 staff, called by their colleagues, tried to resuscitate him, but there was nothing they could do for Terrana. The Carabinieri and ASP technicians also intervened on site for the investigations coordinated by the Termini Imerese prosecutor’s office which opened an investigation. The worker, according to the first information gathered by the military, was carrying out renovation work in a building located in the town. For reasons yet to be ascertained, he apparently lost his balance and fell from a height of approximately 5 metres, hitting his head violently. The medics carried out resuscitation procedures for about an hour, but in the end – in the absence of a heartbeat – they had to give up. On the construction site, together with Giovanni Terrana, there were also his two sons who worked together with their father. The ASP technicians are verifying the regularity of the assignment of the works and whether the safety regulations have been respected. It is also necessary to establish who the owner of the company is.
