On Friday 28 June, at 10.30 am, in the Sala Mattarella of Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo, an important meeting will be held on “Procurement, Donation and Transplantation of Organs: Reflections and Objectives for the Optimization of Processes in SSR Companies”. is promoted by the Regional Department of Health and the Regional Transplant Center of Sicily, with the aim of improving and optimizing the processes linked to organ donation and transplantation in regional healthcare companies.
The meeting will be opened by institutional greetings from the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, from the President of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, Hon. Gaetano Galvagno, from the Health Councilor of the Sicilian Region, Giovanna Volo, and from the Coordinator of the Sicily Regional Transplant Center , Giorgio Battaglia.
Among the scheduled interventions, the Director of Strategic Planning, Salvatore Iacolino, and the Director of DASOE, Salvatore Requirez, will offer a strategic and operational framework of current regional health policies. Giuseppe Feltrin, Director of the National Transplant Center, will provide a national overview, while Antonio Scafidi, Head of Operational Coordination of the CRT Sicily, will discuss regional operational specificities.
The moderation of the event will be entrusted to Vincenzo Mazzarese, Director of the Operational CRT UOC, who will guide the discussions and encourage discussion between the participants.
The meeting represents a crucial moment for the Sicilian Regional Health System, highlighting the institutions’ commitment to promoting and improving organ donation and transplant practices. Dialogue and collaboration between the various actors involved are fundamental to face the challenges and achieve the objectives of efficiency and quality in healthcare processes.
