the anime series will conclude with a trilogy of films

Demon Slayerthe record-breaking anime by Studio Ufotable that is now famous all over the world, will return to theaters with a trilogy of films to adapt its final narrative arc, the “Infinity Castle saga”, which should write the final word on the animated transposition based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga. The previous film, Demon Slayer: The Mugen Trainmarked the highest grossing record in the history of Japanese cinema, with over half a billion dollars earned worldwide.

The animated series of Demon Slayer began in the spring of 2019 with the broadcast of the first season, and continued with the screening of the film in cinemas Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, and subsequently with the broadcast of three more seasons, the last of which ended yesterday, on Sunday 30 June. To date, the contents of 16 volumes of the manga out of 23 in total have been adapted, and the last 7 will be transposed through a trilogy of films to be released in the near future, also in Italian cinemas.

Although considered as the final narrative arc, the story of the “Infinity Castle saga” by Demon Slayer is told over the course of five volumes, and is followed by the “Countdown to Dawn arc”, which completes the story in the next two volumes. Although these are two separate arcs, it is very likely that they will be treated as a single story arc by Ufotable, which should then conclude the story in the third animated film. If not, there would be room for a possible fourth film.
