Renzo Lovato’s company pretended to fire the (few) regular workers it had, so as to pay them a pittance illegally, and have the rest paid to INPS.

He hired workers, made them work long enough to accrue unemployment benefits, then falsely fired them and made them start unemployment proceedings. In this way, according to the public prosecutor who has been investigating his company for years, Renzo Lovato he could pay the workers a pittance illegally, while the other part was paid to them by the INPS. However, this only concerns those who were legal: many of them, as in the case of Satnam Singh and his wife, did not have documents. In this case, the laborers were paid even less, despite very hard working days that easily reached twelve hours (without a break).

From what emerged after an exclusive from TgLa7 by Enrico Mentana, Renzo Lovato has been under investigation for five years for gangmastering. His company and his modus operandi have been in the sights of investigators for some time, but for the moment no request for indictment has yet been made. The man therefore continued to exploit the laborers – especially Indians, foreigners, without documents and therefore in a more fragile situation – and to make them work in conditions of total insecurity.

There was no way to rebel against the rules of the Lovato company, anyone who did so was fired immediately and sent away. Only in this way could he count on the silence of the workers who, for fear of losing even those few pennies a month, subjected themselves to those inhuman conditions.

Satman Singh’s employer under investigation for years for gangmastering: he said “he died carelessly”

Renzo Lovato is the man who, in the aftermath of the death of Satnam Singh he declared: “It was a lightness, which cost us all dearly.” The 31-year-old had an accident with a plastic wrapping machine, which severed a limb, broke his legs and caused a head injury. Renzo Lovato’s son, Antonello, instead of helping Satnam, loaded him into the van and abandoned him in front of his home together with his wife, who was desperately asking to take her husband to hospital. Rescued after the intervention of neighbors, who called 118, the man was taken to the San Camillo hospital in Rome, where he later died. Antonello Lovato is currently under investigation for manslaughter, failure to provide aid and violation of the laws regarding irregular employment.
