Ponsacco, 30 June 2024 – After three stages, the Giro dei Tre Comuni/Memorial Silvano Marchetti, a points-scored stage race for students, the only one of its kind in Italy, ended in Ponsacco. The second edition after that of 2023, was won by the Tuscan William Luciano Gaggioli of Team Valdinievole thanks to second place in the inaugural time trial, and the placings in the two subsequent stages won by the Trentino Davide Zanei by gap and by the Piedmontese Nicola Cerame in the sprint. Of note is the fall of Bellato (Us Biassono) who was second in the standings before the last stage. A good confirmation for Gaggioli, with his third success of the season and fourth in the Italian time trial championship in Grosseto. A brilliant young man, a son of art, who loves to run on the attack and who is liked by athletes. The race organized by Ciclistica Mobilieri led by managers Fagnani and Cocchiola saw the presence of 114 riders from 25 teams. A nice youth event with interesting young people. In addition to Gaggioli (white jersey), the red jersey (flying finishes) for Davide Gileno of USBiassono, and the yellow one for the best youngster to the Italian time trial champion, Tommaso Cingolani from the Marche region who was part of the Marche Representative team. In the last stage which ended in the sprint, Cerame overtook Agostino, Gaggioli, Castellan and Battistoni with his third success.

FINAL RANKING: 1)William Luciano Gaggioli (Team Valdinievole) 125 points; 2)Giacomo Agostino (Pedale Senaghese) 117; 3)Tommaso Cingolani (Marche Representative) 116; 4)Alessandro Battistoni (Marche Representative) 87; 5)Federico Occoffer (Veloce Club Borgo) 85.
