ROME – Max Verstappen wins the Spanish Formula 1 GP. Lando Norris’ McLaren in second place on the podium and Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in third. Ferrari out from the podium: Charles Leclerc in fifth place and Carlos Sainz in sixth. George Russell’s other Mercedes took fourth place.

This is how the Spanish F1 GP ended, dominated as usual by Max Verstappen’s Red Bull which achieved its seventh seal of the season, the 61st of its career. The Dutch reigning world champion takes back what once belonged to him, taking first place away from poleman Lando Norris in the McLaren after just one lap. It was the only thrill of the Spanish GP, with Norris second ahead of the Mercedes of Hamilton and George Russell. Leclerc fifth and Sainz sixth at the finish line, practically confirming the official qualifying positions. Verstappen increasingly dominates the drivers’ standings with 219 points. Leclerc loses second place, overtaken by Norris: 150 points for the Englishman, 148 for the Ferrari driver. On Sunday we race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, for the Austrian GP.
