the Italian national teams in the Lazio Region

The Lazio Region is increasingly “Blue”: in the coming months, in fact, several matches of the Italian national football teams will be hosted in the regional territory, as part of the partnership signed with the FIGC.

«Thanks to the agreement stipulated between us and the FIGC we not only promote the image of Lazio as we are already doing on the occasion of the European Football Championships, the only Italian region present within Casa Azzurri, but we bring the blue shirt back to our provinces. We are indeed proud to announce that we will welcome the U21 and U20 national teams in Latina and Rieti – commented the regional councilor for the Environment, Energy Transition, Climate Change, Sustainability, Tourism and Sport Elena Palazzo during a press conference at “Casa Azzurri” in Germany – In conjunction with the appointments with Italy, we will involve associations and schools on issues related to the values of sport that the blue shirt symbolizes. The national youth competitions will also be an opportunity to verify the standards of international competitions so as to evaluate the priorities of the interventions to be planned, based on the resources available, on the sports facilities of the Region”.

It starts in September with the Under 21s, who will be in training camp in Latina from 1 September and four days later (5 September, live on Rai 2 at 6pm) will face the same age group from San Marino at the “Francioni” stadium in a match valid for the 2025 Under 21 European Championship qualifiers.

On 10 October the Under 20s will be on stage in Rieti, at the “Centro d’Italia” Stadium (time and TV programming to be defined), for the match against England valid for the 8 Nations Tournament 2024-25.

On the same day, the Azzurri, currently involved in UEFA Euro 2024, will also return to play in Lazio, at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, against Belgium (10 October Rai 1, 9pm), the first home match of the UEFA Nations League 2024 group -25 after the two September away games in Paris (with France) and Budapest (with Israel).

Finally, the date and venue of a match for the women’s national team are still to be evaluated: the Italian team’s calendar for next season, in fact, will only be defined after the two European Qualifiers matches in July.
