The “Trofeo Tre Corone Oro Sicilia 2024” is back, the event that rewards Aeolian excellence in the world of catering and the hotel sector. Making the event even more special will be the celebrations for the 90th birthday of its founder, Aldo Palmeri. Now in its sixth edition, the event will be held in Lipari on 7 September, from 4pm to 7pm, on the suggestive terraces of the Mea hotel.

The awards will be given to around 40 Aeolian businesses and the awards ceremony will be conducted by the journalist Emanuele Termini, director of Cook Magazine.

“I decided to organize the sixth edition of the Aldo Palmeri Tre Corone Oro Sicilia Trophy on my 90th birthday and it is no coincidence – explains Aldo Palmeri, president of the Tre Corone Oro Sicilia club – I have dedicated 65 years of my life to the islands Aeolian: a passion and a love that has grown year after year. This is why I decided to reward around 40 Aeolian activities that stood out for their qualities.”

The event will not only be a moment of celebration, but also an opportunity for meeting and discussion between the protagonists of the Aeolian economy who will be able to share experiences, ideas and plans for the future. The choice of the terraces of the Mea hotel as a location adds a touch of elegance and beauty, with a breathtaking view that will frame an unforgettable evening.

The Club Corone Oro Sicilia – biography

The Corone Oro Sicilia club was founded in 2002 on the initiative of professor Aldo Palmeri. A private, non-profit initiative that places emphasis on the beauty of Sicily and its islands, describing and rewarding the producers and entrepreneurs who have stood out the most. The club rewards the excellence of the area in terms of catering, hotel hospitality, fashion, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship in general.

In his long career, Professor Palmeri has held various institutional positions since the 1950s: director of the Sicilian Regional Labor Department, deputy director of the Regional Tourism Department and was part of the cabinet office of the Governor of the Sicily Region Giuseppe Alessi, with the task of taking care of relations with the smaller islands. He also dedicated himself a lot to teaching with lectures at the universities of Catania, Palermo, Messina and Venice.

Aldo Palmeri has written over 60 books, including the manual “Let’s valorise Sicily and its splendid islands”, which reached its eighth reprint in 2024. The book tells the story of the companies that have distinguished themselves above all in the restaurant and hotel sector, but also in various excellence in art, craftsmanship and fashion, with the reporting of the prizes received which can be Sicilian coffe, trinacrie or crowns, depending on the category they belong to, or even trophies.
