In recent days, the city of Paternò paid homage to the memory of the Deputy Superintendent of the State Police Giuseppe Randazzo, who died in service on 22 June 1993 during an escort service to an exceptional transport on the A/4 “Serenissima”.

Local authorities, representatives of the police forces and citizens participated in the religious ceremony, organized to remember Randazzo’s sacrifice. At the end of the service, a laurel wreath was placed on the tomb of the Deputy Superintendent at the Paternò Cemetery, in honor of his valor and his extreme sacrifice in the fulfillment of duty.

Giuseppe Randazzo was awarded the Gold Medal for Civil Valor for losing his life during an escort service to an exceptional transport, demonstrating great professionalism and dedication to his work. His passing left a deep void in the community of Paternò and in the ranks of the State Police, for which Randazzo represented an example of courage and self-sacrifice.

Through this commemoration, the city of Paternò wanted to keep alive the memory of a servant of the State who gave his life to guarantee the safety of citizens, fully embodying the values ​​of the State Police: loyalty, honor and sacrifice.
