Ex Italia, bad misadventure for Baggio last night

Bad misadventure for Roberto Baggio and his family. As reported by the Corriere del Veneto, the winner of the Ballon d’Or in 1993 and his family were victims of a violent robbery last night while they were enjoying Spain-Italy, a match valid for the second day of Group B of the European Championship in Germany. The gang of at least 5 people, all armed, broke into the former footballer’s villa in Altavilla Vicentina. The Divine Codino tried to tackle one of the robbers, but was hit with the butt of a gun after a very brief struggle, which caused a deep wound. The former Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina and Bologna player was locked together with his family inside a room, while the criminals turned the house upside down and stole watches, jewels and money. The loot has not yet been quantified. Baggio broke down the door when he realized that the robbers had left (after about 40 minutes) and subsequently called the carabinieri, with the soldiers of the Vicenza company who intervened, listening to the versions of those directly involved and acquiring all the images of video surveillance. The former number 10 was taken to the emergency room in Arzignano, where he was treated with a few stitches on his forehead. Just a lot of fear for the other members of the family.
