Taylor Wily, actor known for his participation in the TV series “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum PI”, has died at the age of 56. “I am devastated,” was the comment of producer Peter M. Lenkov who dedicated a tribute to Wily.
He died at just 56 years old Taylor Willy, actor known for his roles in the TV series “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum PI”. The news was confirmed by the Hawaiian network KITV 4 Island News. Wily, whose real name was Teila Tuliwas known for playing the role of Kamekona in the series “Hawaii Five-0” for 171 episodes which aired over 10 seasons between 2010 and 2020. He reprized the same role to participate in 7 episodes of “Magnum PI”.

Commenting on the news was Peter Lenkov, executive producer of the series “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum PI”. “I’m devastated, I’m heartbroken”, wrote the man in a post published on Instagram, “In a few days I will publish something more detailed. It’s too difficult right now”. The cause of Taylor Wily’s death has not been revealed. Several of the actor’s family members have already remembered him on social media, publishing videos of some of the moments shared together. The actor leaves behind his wife Halona and their two children.
His career as a sumo wrestler before television
Before embracing a career in television, Taylor Wily had long been a Sumo fighter. He had managed to set a record by remaining undefeated in his first 14 fights. In 1989 he retired for health reasons. A few years later, he attempted a career as an Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter but after losing three teeth during a match with the Dutch MMA champion Gerard Gordeau he decided to abandon the sport permanently. The actor’s disappearance dates back to Thursday 20 June according to the memory published on Facebook by his niece Alyssa, daughter of Wily’s sister, and by some other family members who remembered him on social media.
