PERUGIA – An open-air day at the City of Sunday in Perugia which on June 23rd will be transformed, to the delight of all children, into Firefighters City thanks to the initiative conceived and promoted by the National Association of Firefighters on Leave (Anvvfc ), with the aim of introducing young guests to the world of firefighters in a playful and educational way.
From 2.30pm to 7pm, children will have the opportunity to take on the role of a firefighter, learning the basics of rescue operations through games and practical tests.
«Pompieropoli – comments Alessandro Guidi, director of Città della Domenica – is an event dedicated to children aged 3 to 12, which we host every year with great pleasure. It also represents a unique opportunity to raise awareness among young participants about respecting the rules and prevention, in a fun and stimulating context, transmitting values such as courage, solidarity and the importance of safety.”
The little heroes will therefore experience the thrill of being firefighters for a day and will be asked to pass tests of skill and balance, such as climbing ladders, climbing down the pole, crossing a tunnel and saving a kitten from the house on fire: at the end of these “adventures” they will receive the small firefighter certificate.
Children will be at the center of Città della Domenica’s activities throughout the summer, thanks also to the summer centers organized by the Borgorete cooperative, in the name of creativity, knowledge of nature and respect for animals. The activities are aimed at children aged 4 to 14, divided into groups by age group, they will begin on July 1st and will continue until August 9th in the 40 hectares of natural park. Through the wildlife trails, the riding school for the older ones and the farm, every week you will be able to come into contact with some of the park’s guest animals, as well as taking part in activities and workshops on ethology, construction, creative painting, orienteering, singing, music in movement, expressive workshops, theatrical activities, rediscovery of natural and recycled materials and much more.
