On June 26th new test in the Tul dam area. A message will arrive to check the population’s telephone coverage
From 25th to 27th June and then on the day of July 3, 2024gods will take place testing of the IT-alert public alarm system in the Regions of Lombardy, Friuli Venezia Giulia and in the Autonomous Province of Trento on the risk of major accident in an industrial plant and the risk of collapse of large dams.
The system is already in operation from February 13th but, to optimize its operation, it is necessary to proceed anyway periodic tests. It’s about essential evidence not only to perfect the technology in use but also to keep attention on the related risks and increase population awareness.
In Fvg the collapse of the Tul dam will be simulated
The day to mark on the calendar for Friuli Venezia Giulia is June 26th: the programmed simulation is that of collapse of the Tul Dambuilt on torrent Cosaa right tributary of the Tagliamento, in the municipalities of Clauzetto And Castelnuovo del Friuli. The activity will start from 9am.
The system will send an alert test message to cell phones in the area
Should the user receive an IT-alert message containing the word “TEST”this will indicate that a system functionality check is underwaynecessary to be sure that, in the event of a real emergency, the messages are actually transmitted by the telephone cells and received by the devices present in the affected areas.
For the scenario hypothesized in Fvg, that of the collapse of the dam, the message sent will be: TEST TEST IT-alert test message. On test days, from the site’s homepage you will access a dedicated page where it will be possible to view the text of the message that would arrive in case of real danger and the link to the questionnaire that citizens in the territories involved are invited to fill outeven if they do not receive any notification.
The test message will arrive on the switched-on cell phones with a telephone connection of those who will be in the target areas.
