A few minutes after 10pm on Wednesday 19 June, an accident, unfortunately fatal, involved a car and a heavy vehicle at km 373 of the A4 towards Trieste, shortly afterwards the Arino Est service areain the Dolo area (Venice).
A young woman died, a boy was injuredboth occupants of the car which, for reasons under investigation by the Venice traffic police, violently hit the articulated lorry in front of them. The driver of the heavy vehicle was uninjured.
The victim is a 20-year-old girl resident in Mestre, GS the initials of her name.
The young man driving the TL, in his early twenties, resident in the Venetian mainland, was taken in a state of shock to the emergency room of the Dolo hospital: practically unharmed, he was assisted and subjected to tests, and was discharged.
In addition to the traffic police, the Suem of Padua, the firefighters and the staff of the Veneto motorway concessions, along with the traffic auxiliaries, intervened on site.
According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, it seems that the truck was stopped in a lay-by when the speeding car hit it on the right side. The traffic police officers seized the vehicles. The young man was subjected to the tests required by the reads and his phone was confiscated.
Traffic disruptions are inevitable the long queues. In fact, to allow rescue to the people involved and guarantee the safety of the operators, the Cav operations center has arranged the roadway closurewith recommended exit at Padova Est.
