Tomorrow morning, Thursday 20 June, Dr. Marinella Rancurello, vice prefect at the Prefecture of Cuneo with current position as Head of Cabinet, will cross – in her capacity as Extraordinary Commissioner – the threshold of the Municipality of Sanfront, a Municipality that she will govern for at least a year (and in any case until the first useful electoral window of 2024 or 2025) after the electoral collapse of the outgoing mayor and former president of the Unione Montana del Monviso, overwhelmed by a tsunami of blank (128) and null (622) ballots, tangible evidence of the discontent of the citizens.
Meirone speaks of a “campaign against it without showing his face”, with accusations however without address, despite the fact that as mayor he must be given the undoubted merit of having completed – in the last five years – a number of public works that no mayor of the neighboring municipalities can boast.
Sixty-five years old on November 7th, after a period of about 11 years, Dr. Rancurello – in 2000 – became Deputy Prefect and over the years held the positions of manager of the Civil Protection, Civil Defense and Coordination of the Public assistance, from the Application of the Administrative and Litigation Sanctioning System area and from the Civil Rights, Citizenship, Immigration and Right of Asylum area.
In 2015, for a few months, he served at the Prefecture of Lecco, replacing the functions of Chief of Staff and Area I manager. Since April 2020 he has held the role of Chief of Staff and manager in a staff position responsible for civil protection, civil defense and coordination of public assistance.
Her track record in terms of administration is enviable, a role she is destined to cover in the municipalities of Roaschia, Acceglio, Monterosso Grana, Roccabruna, Dronero, Bergolo, Monesiglio, Sambuco, Rossana, Sommariva del Bosco and Montaldo Roero. Head of the census office, Director of the Road Operational Committee.
Member of the electoral commissions of Cuneo, Mondovì and Saluzzo and president of the relevant subcommissions of Mondovì and Saluzzo, he is part of various supervisory commissions for the discarding of archive documents at provincial bodies and is also a substitute member, representing the Ministry of the Interior – Cuneo Prefecture of the Italian Delegation of the Intergovernmental Commission for the improvement of connections in the Southern Alps (CIG) as well as in the Tenda Tunnel Safety Committee.
