Cinema: ‘Near Light’ by Salvato wins the Vision 2030 festival

Near Light’ by Niccolò Salvato won the second edition of Vision 2030, the sustainable film festival in Noto, directed by Giulia Morello, produced by Smile Vision in partnership with Dire Fare Cambiare, Tadàn Produzioni and Cleverage. Salvato’s work was elected best documentary by the jury composed of Steve Della Casa, Margot Sikabonyi and Rossella Muroni. The jurors Giacomo Ciarrapico, Saverio Pesapane and Manuela Rima instead decreed an ex aequo, with ‘Anima’ by Adriano Spadaro and ‘The Sprayer’ by Farnoosh Abedi for the award for best short film. ‘Silver’ by Hamid Saberi obtained the Premiere Film Distribution award which will be distributed free of charge in festival circuits around the world. The winners of the Unpli Award, chosen by the jury composed of Pippo Bernardo, Antonio La Spina and Beppe Manno, were, ex aequo, ‘The Challenge’ (collective direction) and ‘Tutta mia la città’ by Matteo dell’Angelo. The closing ceremony was held last night at the Tina Di Lorenzo Theater in Noto, and also saw the awarding of other awards. The Cambiare Award went to ‘Shero’ by Claudio Casale. Smile Vision awarded the Visioni Award to ‘Corpo Unico’ by Mia Benedetta. The Tadàn prize went to ‘Like a real couple’ by Christian Angeli. The Cleverage Award to ‘Sons of Rock’ by Antonio Dal Mas. Moscerine Film Festival awarded ‘Sognando Venezia’ by Elisabetta Giannini and the Atena Nike Award to ‘ADAMO’ by Beppe Tafarulo. Finally, the Pop Corn Festival Short Film Award went to ‘The Sprayer’ by Farnoosh Abedi.
The five-day festival was once again an exclusive showcase for documentaries and short films which not only reflect the central theme of sustainability, but which are also exemplary in the adoption of eco-compatible production practices, explains the organization in a note, confirming Vision 2030 as the national reference in the audiovisual field for the promotion of sustainability issues inherent to the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Also of great importance was the event dedicated to image education, organized by the Moscerine Film Festival in collaboration with the Istituto Comprensivo Giuseppe Melodia and Legambiente. During the event, 100 kg of waste were collected from the beaches of Cala Bernardo, thanks to the joint commitment of the participants. (AGI)
