Week-end of challenges in Forno, for one of the most anticipated events in the area.
What are we talking about? Of the Alto Canavese Gamesa fun event in the “Games without Borders” style which aims to unite the countries of the Canavese area and their players, with a wide age range ranging from 12 years to Over 60.
Lottery, the best carpenter, wheelbarrow and sack racing, the relay race, tug of war, the game of maypole and many other disciplines: the residents of the Canavese area competed against each other on the weekend of 14, 15 and 16 June in many challenges, each awarding points and which are added to decide the final winner of the competition.

Well, for the 2024 edition, under Forno Canavese, they were the ones to climb to the top step of the podium, the hosts.
With 282 points the city of Forno obtains the gold medal; head to head until the last challenge: Rivara comes second and with a score of 281 (just one point behind) he takes home a well-deserved silver.
Third is the Municipality of Pertusio, with 250 points and congratulations from the mayor Giuseppe Damini, who writes via social media: “Congratulations to the Pertusio team! An excellent podium placement. Well done to Davide Agasi and to each of the team members” he states, complete with a shot together with the local team.

To date, there are 16 municipalities participating in the “Games”; Over the three days of competition, around 800 athletes took part and worked hard to compete for victory from Friday evening until the awards ceremony on Sunday.
“To keep the organizational machinery of the games moving, it was necessary to set up a committee, created so that it could take care of organizing the games, regulating them and making them itinerant. How? Placing the organization and hosting of the “Alto Canavese Games” in the winning country as the only prize up for grabs – explain the organizers – A fun way to be outdoors, away from cell phones and televisions, but above all to rediscover teamwork and what it means to be together”.
An art, that of enhancing the territory in a particular and fun way, which the Canavese knows well, and this is confirmed by the number of athletes who participated in this edition of the Games, complete with applause from the many mayors and local administrators who took takes part in competitions, from tug of war to the traditional “pie in the face” competition.
