Accident on the E45, bodybuilder Ennio Verducci dies, struck while providing assistance
A tragic fatal accident occurred on the morning of June 26 on the E45, in direction Cesena, near the Sant’Egidio exit. A 59 year old body shop worker, Ennio Verducci, from a company in Bastia Umbra he lost his life while serving rescue to a broken down vehicle. The tragedy occurred near the service area around 11am, when the man was invested from a courier van.
The body shop worker had stopped to help a motorist in difficulty. However, during the rescue operations, he was hit by an oncoming heavy vehicle. The exact circumstances of the accident are still being investigated, but it appears that the man was on the road at the time of the impact.
In addition to the Fire Brigade, Anas personnel, the Traffic Police and 118 also intervened at the site of the accident to provide first aid and guarantee the safety of the area. Despite the immediate intervention of the emergency services, the operator unfortunately died on the spot due to the serious injuries sustained. The competent authorities are carrying out the necessary investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and ascertain responsibilities.
In the meantime, the accident area has been temporarily closed to traffic to allow investigations and ensure the safety of other road users. Kilometers of queues created in a very short time and the whole area remained blocked for several hours.
