VILLA D’ADDA (Bergamo)
Yet another white death in Lombardy. This time the contours of the story are those that are thought impossible to outline. The tragedy occurred yesterday morning in Villa d’Adda, a municipality in the province of Bergamo. Luca Carrara. 41 years old, he died due to an accident at work that occurred in his workshop. According to initial reconstructions, the 41-year-old would have seriously injured his neck while he was using a hose in the workshop he managed in Viale delle Industrie, inside the “Car Fuel 37” service area, where there is a workshop, a bar and a car wash.
The hypothesis is that he slipped and ended up against the blade of the tool, causing serious injuries that caused him to bleed to death. The alarm went off around midday, when the man’s relatives, not seeing him return home for lunch, went to the scene and made the dramatic discovery. The man was on the ground, lifeless. The request for help to the single number 112 was made immediately.
Soreu Alpina from Bergamo sent two medical vehicles and an ambulance to the scene, but there was nothing that could be done for the 41-year-old. He died shortly after landing on the hose. He didn’t even have time to ask for help or patch the wound he inflicted on himself. The Carabinieri of the Zogno Company intervened at the site of the accident and started investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident.
The workshop was seized so as to be able to carry out all the necessary findings and exclude any other hypothesis. An autopsy has been ordered on the body to shed light on the causes of death. It remains to be seen whether all the regulations relating to safety in the workplace have been respected. The tragedy that shook the community of Villa d’Adda, where the 41-year-old was well known and respected and considered a great worker.
