Bivona: WWF student lecture series on climate. Meeting with president Giuseppe Mazzotta

The children of the Bivona complex of the “A. Manzoni” met the president of the WWF Sicily Mediterranean Area, arch. Giuseppe Mazzotta, to complete the cycle of lessons which also saw him engaged in the other schools of Cianciana and Alessandria della Rocca.

From the origins of environmentalism, with the history of the birth of the WWF on the initiative of some English nobles, to the protection of endangered species, first the panda, to move on to the wealth of biodiversity that generates balance in nature, and finally delve into the great theme that worries the entire planet regarding the climate and its increasingly ungovernable madness.

A deep thank you goes to the creator of this marathon, prof. Valerio Valenti, former student of Mazzotta at the Liceo Classico of Bivona, and then to prof. Piero Vacante and the school director Prof. Rosaria Provenzano who made everything easier.

“It is from the young people that we expect a burst of awareness regarding the tragic conditions into which we are dragging the planet – Mazzotta specified – their answers make us optimistic, the times are too tight, but, as is now said for everything, we will have to be “resilient” to “regenerate” a present that is difficult to accept. We are the future we build.”
