Race 1 on the home circuit for Nicolò Bulega ends with a second place. The 24-year-old from San Clemente is first among the Ducatis, but must give way to Toprak Razgatioglu, who with his BMW dominated the first challenge on the “Marco Simoncelli” circuit in Misano for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Superbike. The Turk thus manages to overtake the top of the standings and reach 142, with Bautista now second at 139 and Bulega very close to the two hares with 129. It’s a real battle, just as this race was, at least in the first laps . Rea was out immediately, while at the start it was Gardner who led the way, but with Razgatioglu immediately behind, with the clear intention of overtaking at any moment. The pace of the Turk appeared unsustainable from the first laps, Gardner was overtaken and from then on there was none for anyone. The Australian got lost in the rear and the positions of honor soon fell to the reds of Bautista and Bulega, with the latter doing well to overtake his Ducati Aruba Racing teammate and control until the finish line for second position. In the end, Razgatioglu won with 1″7 over Bulega and 3″1 over Bautista, with the group of three clearly ahead of all the others, starting from the fourth, Locatelli, who finished over 10″. Followed by Lowes, Gardner, Iannone, Van del Mark, Petrucci and Lecuona. In the general ranking, after the first three positions, here is Lowes in fourth with 104, then Locatelli (77), Iannone (73), Van der Mark (66), Gardner (64), Petrucci (54) and Aegerter (46). Today Superpole at 11am and race 2 at 2pm, with Bulega looking for the best possible pace to try to shorten the distance from the top of the standings, which is still very close. All before the restart in July at Donington.
