Paolo Carù is dead, his cat Luigi is left alone: appeal to find a new family for the king of vinyl’s cat

The sudden death of Paolo Carù, the 77-year-old owner of the world-famous record shop of the same name, shocked the entire city of Gallarate (in the Varese area) and the international community of rock music enthusiasts, but it also left him without a family: Luigi is about four years old and is Carù’s cat.

He lived with the 77-year-old in the house in the center of Gallarate where yesterday morning the collaborators discovered the body of Paolo Carù: now the web’s solidarity buzz has been activated for the animal.

“Big tragedies, like the disappearance of Paolo Carù, unfortunately trigger a myriad of small tragedies – Monica Salomoni, one of the administrators of the ‘Gallarate è’ group, which brings together over 14 thousand people, wrote on Facebook – Paolo’s cat was left alone . His name is Luigi, he is about 4 years old and has just lost his human self.”

For him, who will certainly be scared and disoriented in this difficult moment, a gesture of generosity is required: “I know that many would prefer to adopt a puppy, but an adult cat can represent an excellent choice – we read again in the post – especially in case of elderly people looking for affectionate company”.

The hope now is that “Luigi can find a new family through the group”.

The appeal accompanied by the photo of the cat – white with a black tail and two black spots on the head – has already collected dozens of likes and comments.

“Adopt adult cats – recommends a user, recounting her experience – Last year we adopted a four-year-old cat who had just been abandoned twice: a wonderful experience, a truly splendid kitten. If mine wasn’t absolutely ill-disposed towards other cats, I would take it straight away.”

To give Luigi a new home, he now confides “in the big heart of some Gallaratese”.
