The Melbourne detective, the beloved Peregrine Fisher, returns and will be the protagonist of eight new episodes of the series The Cases of Young Miss Fishernow in its second season.

The second chapter begins today, Friday 14 June, thrilling lovers of the detective story genre.

The second season of the series The Cases of Young Miss Fisher will always be broadcast on Rai 2 (like the first season) every Friday, starting from 14 June, in prime time, at 9.20pm and in first vision, with two episodes per evening until 5 July.

The series is set in Melbourne, Australia, in the 1960s. It features the young Peregrine, who is the granddaughter of Phyrne Fisher, a tenacious investigator who disappeared in a mysterious plane crash.

Peregrine grew up in the countryside, but will decide to move to the Australian metropolis, Melbourne, to claim her aunt’s inheritance. And what she will discover is that from her aunt she also inherited her curiosity and talent in solving mysteries and crimes.

The series revolves around the personal and professional life of Peregrine Fisher, Annabelle’s daughter and Phryne’s half-sister, born from an extramarital affair of Phryne’s father. Her life changes dramatically when she inherits a fortune from her famous aunt, a relative she has never met. She decides to follow in his footsteps, reinventing herself as a private detective who will soon become world-famous, led by a group of exceptional women from the Adventurers’ Club.

This series is the spin-off of Miss Fisher – Crimes and mysteriesthe. Actress Geraldine Hakewill plays the protagonist, Peregrine.

The first episode is titled Death Project

We begin this evening with the first episode, entitled Death plan. The victims are a couple of lovers. The case proved to be particularly difficult since the two were dedicated to free love, practicing “swinging” as a couple. The morning after a party, an architect, commissioned to redesign Peregrine’s house, and his lover are found dead in the sauna.

The protagonist and her future husband, James, try to reconstruct the events, but the task proves difficult: the guests had exchanged partners in the name of free love. Hidden secrets and complicated relationships will emerge as they try to unravel the mystery behind the two murders.

Then follows episode number two, entitled Crumbs of death. Here we will see the protagonist who is about to get married to James. Before the wedding, she will find herself having to investigate a flight attendant school.

We find a very happy Peregrine about her upcoming wedding. But her enthusiasm wanes when she realizes that she and James have different visions for their future together. While she tries to find balance, a new case awaits her: during flight attendant training at Melbourne Airport, a woman’s body is discovered. To solve the mystery, Peregrine decides to infiltrate the hostess school, posing as one of her students.

Miss Fisher – Crimes and Mysteries

It all started in 2012, when an Australian television series titled Miss Fisher – Crimes and Mysteries.

This is a show based on the novels by Kerry Greenwood. The mother series consists of three seasons, for a total of 34 episodes, and ended in 2016, generating a film dated 2020, entitled Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears.

The success of the series gave rise to the spin-off The Cases of Young Miss Fisheralso based on the crime novels by writer Kerry Greenwood.

Eight episodes for the second season

The second season consists, like the first, of a total of eight episodes. These will be broadcast during four prime time slots on Rai 2.

Directed by Fiona Banks. The cast includes Geraldine Hakewill, Joel Jackson, Catherine McClements, James Mason, Toby Truslove and Louisa Mignone.
