TREIA Doesn’t come home for lunch, old man struck down by a illness found dead in a field. Drama yesterday in the Treia countryside, on the border with the Cingoli area, in the Schito area. The victim is 72-year-old Franco Massei. The man had gone out as usual yesterday morning to work in his vegetable garden, but had not returned for lunch.
The alarm went off around 1pm when the son, used to finding his father at home when he returned, did not find him and became worried. Searches began immediately in the field in the Schito area where the 72-year-old used to go daily and where he was found lying on the ground. The son understood that the situation was serious and immediately asked for the intervention of the 118 health workers who arrived on site with an ambulance, but there was already nothing more that could be done for the elderly man. The health emergency workers could not help but confirm the death of Franco Massei.
The police also intervened at the site of the tragedy to investigate the case and reconstruct what happened. However, there would be no doubt that it was an illness. An autopsy has not been arranged and the body is available to the family for the funeral which has not yet been scheduled.
