The fire explodes inside a garage. Then the flames they come up from the stairwell and invade the first ones plans of the condominium at number 8: three people, who were in an apartment on the third floor, died from inhaling the fumes. A family tragedy, because the victims are Silvano Tollardo (67 years old), his wife Carolina De Luca (63) and their son Antonio (34). Another person, a woman on the fifth floor, was seriously injured, while two other people were found to be intoxicated. It all happened around 7pm in via Fra Galgario, in the Gambara area, in Milan.
According to initial information, the fire apparently started from a car undergoing repairs in the shop which also offers car electrician and tire replacement services. The garage was completely engulfed in flameswhich then went up to the upper floors of the condominium in the same building as the car repair shop.
On site, a stone’s throw from Piazzale Siena, in addition to 118, the police and the brigade rushed in fire fighters with a team from the via Sardegna detachment while other teams were sent as reinforcements from the operations center in via Messina. The flames were put out and the fire was contained.
